📝 How to use this W-4 withholding calculator

  1. Enter your filing status — single, married filing jointly, head of household, or married filing separately. This determines your standard deduction and bracket thresholds.
  2. Enter your annual gross income — your total income before taxes, including wages, salaries, tips, bonuses, and self-employment income.
  3. Enter your dependents — qualifying children under 17 ($2,000 Child Tax Credit each) and other dependents ($500 Credit for Other Dependents each).
  4. Enter pre-tax deductions — 401(k), HSA, FSA, traditional IRA, and other deductions that reduce your taxable income.
